Prof. K.T. KUNHIKRISHNAN NAMBIAR was born on 17-05-1951 at Peralam near Vellur in Payyanur, Kannur District, Kerala. He had a brilliant academic record all through his student life. He took his postgraduate degree in Organic Chemistry with first rank from Calicut University. He was a CSIR research fellow for three years at the same university. He joined the Chemistry Department of Payyanur College in 1976 where he distinguished himself as an illustrious teacher, affectionate brother and able guide to the students. Under his tutelage many students reached high positions around the world. Even after his retirement from college service in 2006, he continued to pursue his academic interests, at the same time offering all possible help to students till his untimely demise in 2010.
He completed his service as Head of the Post Graduate Department of Chemistry on 31-05-2006. He also served the college as NSS Programme Officer, PTA Secretary, Staff Club Secretary and so on. He always inspired the youth community with his incomparable ability of teaching. He personally helped many students to complete their studies.
His most important and invaluable treasure is his student community. He has given guidance to many in and around Payyanur through numerous guidance classes. The students and friends of Professor K T Kunhikrishnan Nambiar took initiative in forming the trust to carry forward the legacy left behind him and broaden the area to assist the student community.
